About the Author ~ Brittney Joy

Author of young adult equestrian-fiction series, The Red Rock Ranch series, and young adult fantasy series, The OverRuled series. Brittney and her family live in their own piece of heaven in the Oregon countryside. They stay busy with their menagerie of silly horses, cackling chickens, two very naughty goats, a devilish cat, and an adorable pup. When Brittney isn't writing, she's riding or reading. And she wishes she could do all three at the same time.

Brittney Joy has been an equestrian for 25+ years and is certain she was born with the horse-bug (though she didn’t start riding until she was ten). Joy grew up competing in western pleasure with her grade Quarter Horse mare, Austie, and went on a bagillion trail rides. In college she also dabbled in reining, competed on her university’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Team, and trained young horses to pay her way through school. Now, Joy has two horses, Cheli & Stella, which she keeps on her own property and enjoys caring for everyday. She competes in Cowboy Dressage and loves to trail ride.

In Joy’s writing, the riding scenes are detailed and the horses are characters (not just background objects). The Red Rock Ranch Series features western riding as that is Joy’s passion and readers will find the following (and so much more) in the pages of her books:
